NorthShore Regional
Medical Center (NSRMC) is a 165-bed, acute-care
hospital that opened on June 2, 1985 in Slidell,
Louisiana. Conveniently located near the intersection
of three major interstate highways and 30 minutes
from New Orleans, NSRMC serves the healthcare
needs for individuals and businesses from New
Orleans, Slidell, and the Louisiana and Mississippi
Gulf Coast.
This 100-acre healthcare center offers a wide
range of primary and specialized care services
through two multi-specialty medical office buildings,
a medical office park, an ambulatory surgical
center (the Surgery Suite), and a 15-bed inpatient
rehabilitation center.
• The
high quality medical staff is composed
of approximately 334 physicians specializing in
a comprehensive list of services including: Family
Practice, Internal Medicine, Pulmonology, Neurology,
Rheumatology, Endocrinology, Oncology, Cardiology,
and Gastroenterology. Surgical specialties include
Obstetrics/Gynecology, Urology, Orthopedics, Neurosurgery,
Otolaryngology, Cardiovascular, Ophthalmology,
Cosmetic/Reconstructive, as well as general and
vascular surgery.
• Women’s
Services at NSRMC offers a broad array
of obstetric and gynecological services for women
ranging from prenatal and postnatal education
classes and support groups, to a Level III Neonatal
Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
• NSRMC
offers the only Pediatric Intensive Care Unit
(PICU) on the north shore.
• Advanced
Cardiology Services offers in-depth cardiac
care. Including two Cardiac Catheterization Labs
specializing in Angiography, Angioplasty, and
Stent procedures.

A Pain Management Program offering a
multi discipline approach is available for patients
suffering from chronic pain disorders. It utilizes
nutritional, psychological, and pharmacology assessments
and physical rehabilitation.
• NSRMC
is fully accredited by the Joint Commission
for the Accreditation of Health Care Organizations,
licensed by the State of Louisiana and certified
for the participation in the Medicare/Medicaid
programs. The Clinical Laboratory is certified
by the College of American Pathologists and the
Blood Bank by the American Association of Blood
Banks.
• The
Surgery Department consists of seven
surgical suites and one cysto room well staffed
and equipped to handle a variety of surgery cases
ranging from open heart to outpatient procedures.
• A
24-hour Emergency Department is staffed
by physicians and nurses specially trained in
emergency care of all types including pediatric
emergency care.
• Radiology/Imaging
Services are available on an inpatient
and outpatient basis through our various diagnostic
centers.
• An
extensive Neurodiagnostic Lab supports
the needs of our Neurologist, Orthopedic Surgeons
and Neurosurgeons. This lab features a nationally
accredited Sleep Disorders Center.

Other Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services
include Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy,
Speech Therapy, and GI/Endoscopy Laboratory.
• The
15-bed, Inpatient Rehabilitation Center
handles all primary rehabilitation types.
